5 seat belts. Five!

This picture’s from 5 years ago - just popped up. Love it...

And yes, I know many of you will take issue with my heavy family sedan being called a sports car, but if the E92 M3 fits the classification, the E90 performs exactly the same (my car is 3700 lbs, the C8 is 3600) . My cars does great at the track, all day long. =)

I just refer to our machines as the E9X M3's.

I personally do not feel many people dispute any performance gain/loss from E92/E90. Only harsh comments I ever read are for the convertible E93 guys.

Just today I was reading comments about getting one of those $1-2k lithium ion batteries to save a few pounds in a E93.

LOL - saving weight in an E93 is a fool’ s errand (unless you lose the top completely and mount a roll cage).

The people who know know there’s no perceivable difference in the capability of the E92 vs the E90 (coupe is a touch lighter, sedan is a touch more rigid).

Some zealots would say there’s no way that a sports car can have 4 doors; some would say your car is too heavy and “cush” to be a true sports car.

I would love to add a 4-door V8 NA M3 into the mix! However I just drafted two “lifetime maintenance” spreadsheets for the Z4M and E90 wagon - certainly have my hands full...

Ugh, get an antigravity battery. The restart feature is awesome and mine has been perfect at just over three pounds in weight. Starts better then the factory wrx battery ever did to boot.

Two or three hundred bucks I forgot to add.

So far I have added carbon fiber bits and changed my license plate screws to titanium, that is really how far I need to go for weight savings.

I came from a Gen 5 Camaro. So I instantly saved 200 pounds on a better chassis by changing keys.

That picture (which is fantastic, btw) beautifully illustrates why I bought a minivan. I had one kid, then found out we were having twins. I needed something to haul them in, and I imagined three boys shoulder-to-shoulder in the back seat on a 16-hour road trip.

Yup. This is like the one and only time I had all 3 in the back together.

Our trip/family cars have been 7 passenger crossovers: a CX-9 and an MDX.

We rented a CX-9 in CA last June. Despite the three rows, we still put three people in the second row. It wasn’t uncomfortable (not that I ever sat there, I did all the driving). The third row (the “b ackest back” as we called it) was cramped and almost impossible to see out of. We all kept wishing that we had our 03  Odyssey on the trip.

Yeah, the third row in a minivan is fantastic in comparison.

Mrs. addiction’s MDX is wider, so the kids generally sit 3 wide, except on longer trips. Definitely useful when we have a couple of their friends or the in-laws in tow.

We miss the big windows of the van, and even the new ones have shitty visibility from the back row. I’m keeping my 03 on the road for as long a possible.

Now I’m encouraged about  having three kids
